Our bottom base is 7" thick and our top cushion is 5" thick. Most other play couches use a 5" base and 3" cushion. So versatile! I knew we would love this, but we love it even more than expected! My toddler loves throwing himself around on it, it's super fun for the older cousins when they come over (forts, tunnels, you name it) and it's our favourite spot for movie nights in the lounger setup! Don't go for the dupe! We looked at so many brands, but went with Kiddie Couch because it was the biggest and strongest. The quality is amazing you can tell it will last forever.
